U.S. President Joe Biden announced: "My administration will spark the second great railroad revolution to propel our nation's infrastructure into the future and help solve the climate emergency" (Dec. 2019). The recent bipartisan infrastructure law is an important step towards implementing this vision.

The rail industries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland:

It is delivering a new customer experience, the next generation of public transport, smarter networking of metropolitan areas and rural regions, the modernization of the railroad network and the future of logistics.
• share the paradigm of the railroad revolution: emission-free mobility cannot be achieved by implementing bans; the product on offer must be right. Only then will people individually choose to take the train of their own free will

On June 9, 2022, Germany, Austria and Switzerland came together to discuss, exchange, and share with our U.S. partners how rail can make the world more sustainable and how, together, we can implement Second Great U.S. Railroad Revolution. To this end, the embassies of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, together with their national railway associations, organized the first U.S.-DACH-Rail Day.
